Is Social Security paying us extra this month?

When I logged onto my bank it looks like Social Security has given me an extra one time payment of a couple hundred dollars. I logged onto the 'my account' page on the Social Security website, and it looks like they think they also gave me another bigger one time payment. But I don't see the bigger one in my bank account.

I tried googling and it looked like SSI payments went out early (in Sept for Oct) but I don't get SSI. So I don't understand what is going on.

Is anyone else getting extra money this month from Social Security?

Oh I found my answer, it seems since I first began receiving Social Security in January of this year my monthly amount was calculated without last year's work income, and per someone on the early retirement forum, SSA has just recalculated and it seems my recalc amount will be a little more and the couple hundred dollars was to catch me up for the year.

I would delete this thread but I don't know how. Sorry!

That's happened to me before.
But, I usually rec've a letter a month or so before telling me my monthly S.S amount will be increasing in Nov or Dec.
