Is the earth round or flat?

Let me just clarify here that I don't mean to disparage homeschooling in any way. Just to be clear. :) (Nor do I wish to derail this post onto a homeschooling track.)
 

The Earth is both round and flat!

It is round in the "Big Picture", but it is "Flat", wherever
we are standing, usually, if you are standing up a hill
or even a mountain, that is different, but in towns or
villages, it is flat locally.

Somebody will no doubt reply against this reasoning I bet.

I think the discussion is not so much relational, but about the Earth as an astronomical object, the whole of it.

I missed that as I was quickly reading through the thread as i was at work. The name Mike Hughes sounds familiar. There's something in my mind that his first attempt was in a white rocket that only lifted off a few thousand ft

Alligators spend their entire lives under water with nothing but a couple of eyes 1/2 inch above the surface. A lot they know. Now ask a couple of giraffes and they will tell you the Earth is way down at ground level. Eagles. Eagles understand.

Babies born now are not placed on their stomachs to sleep anymore but on their backs. Since their skulls are soft, the back of the head can be flat for several years!

Don't know how anyone thinks earth is flat because at the beach horizon one can see a curve, at least I always see an arc of sorts.

It seems that many Flat Earthers don't even agree with each other. Some believe that the sun is smaller and closer to the earth than it actually is, and that it moves around a flat earth. Present some flat earthers with some logical reasoning and they will readjust their view to fit their belief in a flat earth.
