Is there a possibility of a dedicated subforum or thread title for member issues, ie: Illness, relocation, missing in action, etc

I just caught Franks wifes post about him having to go to the hospital last night in the General subforum and only caught it by chance when signing out. We are a SF family so that's my primary reason for requesting a central reporting point for member notices. Thanks all for listening and have a wonderful day.

Good idea @FlaSkyEye Have you put in a request to Matrix?

Hi Pinky. I'm trying to figure out how to do that? I didn't want to send him a private message unless it was a complaint. Still learning here. I just thought it up and if someone else could set it up is good with me. Keep smiling.

Personally i would post health questions and info on Health subforum, relocation questions under Retirement one, cause for most seniors it's retirement prompting the relocation.

We have existing threads callec 'Silver Alerts' for if you notice someone is not posting with usual frequency but don't recall them mentioning a trip or taking a social media break. Often someone else did see them mention it, or has more extensive contact with them and knows.

If concerned about someone, you can always message them because we can get email notifications about PMs. I don't recall turnng a notification thing on for them but i do get email alerts of them.

We do?! Okay, I need to look for that because this is exactly why I'm in this thread today... I *have* noticed someone "missing" and I miss their posts and wanted to see if there's a way to find out. So I'll go see how the "Silver Alerts" section works. I've only been here since Christmas, so I probably just didn't run across it yet.

Okay, I found that thread and it's not open for further replies, so... I guess I'll just have to keep wondering. Actually I thought of a second person I haven't seen around and then noticed that they both disappeared the same day but there'd been no controversy that I know of with either of them.... and their profiles remain, so it wasn't a banning. Oh well maybe I'm just too nosy but I tend to care about people. đź«‚

I miss that Silver Alerts topic too. Sometimes someone knew the history.

Please feel free to start a new thread. It's a time-sensitive topic, people read some very old posts and ask questions that's no longer relevant.

i would also like to suggest that if one of us is going to be absent for longer than usual we might want to make a post on our home page saying "Don't worry if you don't see me here for a while" without necessarily saying anything that might indicate your home will unattended for awhile. (Not as risky here as on the mega Social Media Sites, but just a good habit--if you and family going on vacation--tell us about it after back. Beforehand just say you'll busy for a week,10 days or whatever.)

Then checking someone's page would be a way to find out. i'm usually on less in winter for variety of reasons from holiday preparations in fall to dealing with cold and snow come January.

If you miss somebody, who usually posts regularly, you
can send them a message and ask if they are OK.

Or, you can click on their Avatar, this will take you to their
account, click on postings when you get there, you will then
be able to see the last thing the posted about, but more
important, you will see the date that it was posted.

That is how I check anyway.

Mike.
