Is this forum volunteering?

I tend to agree with ya.
I would like to think it is volunteering especially
on a relationship forum I use. Makes me feel justified
because it is a nice thing to do.

If calling it "volunteering" makes someone feel better, so be it. If, like myself, you think of it as "batting the breeze" with friends, that should be OK also. Someone asks a question or requests an opinion, I'd provide my thoughts - -or not. Like in face to face conversations, if someone ask you for an opinion on something that you know little or nothing about, you most likely tell them that you have no opinion and are not familiar with the subject. On line - - you just don't answer the thread.

I'm only here "volunteering" in the same manner as attending a football game this week-end. I'm volunteering my time and resources (ticket and gas money):) As always JMHO!!

I don't think it's giving or asking for advice, but more like asking for or giving opinions. Advice can be risky--to the giver and to the taker.

I agree -- it's mostly just asking others if they've had a similar situation, or have found a solution to a common problem -- like when Gary O. shared his experiences with CBD oil. That was a help to me. It is a help to know what others have found helpful; new ideas are always good.
