I saw this one online years ago, found it again. Who's to know if it is real or fake? It certainly looks real to me. I don't know whether to believe in the Jersey Devil or not, but like the Devil, someone or something, started the rumor.Where did the picture come from. As much fun as it is to believe in creatures and aliens, I weed out probable or possible fakes first.
There's a post here somewhere, which if memory serves me correctly, I started re urban legends about local monsters. Can't find it now. There are a lot of legendary cryptids all over the globe. We have the famous Bigfoot (Yeti), Chupacabra and Mothman.I saw this one online years ago, found it again. Who's to know if it is real or fake? It certainly looks real to me. I remember reading this account of the origin of the Jersey Devil before.Origin of the legend

Mother Leeds's 13th child
[edit]
According to popular folklore, the Jersey Devil originated with a Pine Barrens resident named Deborah Leeds, known as "Mother Leeds." The legend states that Mother Leeds had twelve children and, after discovering she was pregnant for the thirteenth time, cursed the child in frustration, declaring that the child would be the "devil."
In 1735, Mother Leeds was in labour on a stormy night while her friends gathered around her. The thirteenth child was born normally. However, it transformed into a creature with hooves, a goat's head, bat wings, and a forked tail. Growling and screaming, the child beat everyone with its tail before flying up the chimney and heading into the pines. In some versions of the tale,
Mother Leeds was supposedly a witch and the child's father was the devil himself. Some versions of the legend also state that local clergymen subsequently attempted to exorcise the creature from the Pine Barrens.[5]
LOL! I do agree on that, some humans scare me enough! In my entire life, I have never seen UFOs or creatures out of the ordinary. I have seen some strange things around my house, but was I dreaming or half asleep, seeing things....not sure. I have 2 cats and they never seen to be disturbed by anything around here, so that is good.I remember reading this account of the origin of the Jersey Devil before.
@Rindee I wonder too. If you watch documentaries about cryptid sightings, the people who get interviewed all swear they saw what they saw and these creatures are real. Even if only 20% of them can be believed, you're right...there's some scary things out there. Well in this world, some humans are scarier than these creatures!![]()
