Very likely good advise.....I remember well the Y2K scare....And I know one woman that was scared 'poopless' over it. I happened to be with her {@ a party} on that N/years eve......the relief for her was outwardly visual. But she really didn't calm, till about mid-week.......Then came the 2012 scare.......

Yep. Yes, the virus is serious...but the media has to hold some blame for spreading the fear. We will survive this too. I think it will be a different normal for us...but we will get over it.
 
I think the world as we know it is gone, and we will be starting a way of living after this one... I don't think it's a bad thing... May take us a while to get used to it... I believe there will be more viruses also... People are not listening to doctors or specialists and doing as they want. For example, we all had to get certain needles if we wanted to go to school, and today's parents are disagreeing on this... I was reading somewhere lately saying we may see polio show it's ugly head again...

Plus, I know I am going to be called names and things as I say this... But our countries are bringing in more and more immigrants, and are not being checked as well as they should be. I know up till a few hours ago, (not even sure if it has changed for sure) but Canada was still allowing people who are not Canadians walk across the border in Quebec, and not being checked.

I believe we need to get serious again and make sure our children's children are getting the meds they need as they grow up, and we need to start doing checking every inmigrant that comes into our countries. I now know that COVID-19 was not started that way. But still should NOT be throughout the world. I think all countries should make laws, that if something like this breaks out again (and I hope not) that as soon as they figure out what is going on, they shut all their borders, and nobody in or out till the virus is killed.

I also think some of our countries could have done more to prevent all of this. I remember our what you call a leader was not worried about it when it started in December when he should have been worried about it. I just think each and every country could have done more when they knew it was in China...

There will surely be a new "normal" after all this is said and done, just as there was after each of the wars, and after 9/11, and after the Great Recession, and so on. There is no constant but change, as the saying goes. But we will recover, as individuals, as nations, as a world, and life will trundle on.

Yes, there will be new and likely dangerous viruses, but they've nothing whatsoever to do with immigrants, or emigrants either. They have to do with invading habitats and upsetting natural balances and just in general wreaking havoc on the planet. We'll figure them out, just as we're figuring this one out, but we won't learn anything from it, sadly, and so it's bound to happen again.

It's easy to point fingers, and hindsight's 20/20, but in truth there isn't a leader or a country on earth that's gotten this right, else we wouldn't be where we are, would we? They are flying blind. I have my issues with those in power but they are doing the best they can with what they have, and I say that without rancor.

Stay safe, everyone. Follow the protocols, protect yourself and those you love. The night is always darkest before the dawn...

You didnā€™t ruffle my feathers. I have been saying some of the same things. Vaccinations are very important. I also agree that every immigrant that enters any country should be given a quick health check with a blood draw to look for infections. There wouldnā€™t be anything wrong with doing that. We should be taking more precautions. I remember at one time, anyone traveling to certain countries had to get a health check-up and/or be vaccinated.
