gosh...i don't even remember the last time i used it.Wax paper readily available here in grocery stores. I use wax paper virtually every day.
what we in Australia call baking paper?
you can still get that in supermarkets here.
I wondered that! I have some. Twenty or more years old. There was no wax(ed) paper in Walmart and another small store. Is it passé? I still use it. Parchment paper is very common now.
I’m sure I’ll find it somewhere.
Same here. When we were children, our mother always wrapped our lunches in wax paper. Hardly ever see it in grocery stores only parchment paper used to line cake tins or baking dishes.
I used to do that. Always had several sheets under the silverware tray.I only use waxed paper a couple times a year and manage to get what I need from the inner bag of a box of breakfast cereal.
When I had a family to feed, I did that same thing. Somehow, I quit doing that. Thanks for the reminder because I will restart that so when I thaw a pound of ground meat, I won't have to have that for the next four meals. One of things I use wax paper for is putting it on the counter when I am making burgers or cutting up some meat. I do not use it to wrap because I process the meat in vacuum packer. I put squares of wax paper (that I cut) in between burgers when I put more than one in the vacuum packer bag. I put squares of wax paper between the chaffles I make and store in the freezer. Parchment paper I use for cooking. A roll of wax paper lasts me a long time.
