Is Your Home As Tidy As Before

I'll admit to being a little lax now, after all isolating means no one is dropping by.

Used to make sure the bed was nicely made every day, now just throw the quilt on wherever it lands and would be horrified for anyone to see the dust bunnies. Cushions are not fluffed either...matter of fact one is on the floor and kitty has made it his bed.

Sooooo....anyone else care to admit to being a little lax.

Actually that is my main activity now.......cleaning jobs I had put off. My bed I make every morning, but I only make half of it anyway. I can't reach the other side and it is against a wall, so I have been doing it this way for a long time now. It works and no one knows (except you guys now).

Mine is about the same as usual except for several boxes filled with stuff to donate when thrift stores reopen. Cleaning remains about the same. Only my husband and I have been inside our home since we started self-isolating on March 14 so we don't need to constantly disinfect or sanitize.

This is me also right now. I’m catching up on all the cleaning & organizing jobs I’ve been putting off.
Since we are still renovating the kitchen I’m going through all the old drawers and throwing lots of stuff out. Now I want to organize every cupboard and closet in the house. It makes life so much easier. It helps keep me busy in a helpful constructive way before I find trouble or trouble finds me. 🥴lol

I think I'm more conscience of having everything clean now. .... I'm always wiping stuff down, especially in the kitchen and bathroom.
And I find myself washing clothes/bedding a little more often than before.
yep I'm the same , I've stepped it up even more... now instead of doing one or 2 rooms a day I do every room in the house top to bottom, every 2 days, including sanitising, including every handle in the house on windows , doors, pull switches, light switches, drawer handles, taps , counter tops, . I wash everything we've been wearing too if we've been out of the house or in the garden... instead of doing one big wash a week, I do one every other night to ensure that everything is clean. I wash the bath and hand towels towels every other day now instead of a pile once a week.

I sanitise stuff in the garden as well.. like today I washed down all the resin furniture with rubbing alcohol because I read somewhere that the virus can stay on plastic for 72 hours... so just in case either of us had brought it in I did that...I know, I know. *sigh* .someone's' gonna think I'm over the top or OCD... but I'm not really ( didn't clean the wooden garden furniture down with isopropyl :ROFLMAO:,) ..I have to admit tho' that me having been sick for a week 2 of those days with a high fever with a mild version of Covid -19 last month and hubs being ill for 16 days very poorly indeed for most of that time .. has made me fearful of everything not being as clean as it can possibly be..

Oh Lee - it's a disaster here and I just can't motivate myself to fix the chaotic mess! Squallor, that's the word! My biggest fear is the thought of having to call rescue services - just hope, if I do, that I am unconscious and unable to feel embarrassed when they arrive!

My house is tidier and cleaner than it's been in the last 20 years! Now that I work from home, I find plenty of time to clean and rearrange areas that I used to neglect. Also I went through a lot of drawers and threw away stuff I didn't need.

You'll figure it out - try doing what you can when you can. Pick a very small area and set a timer for a short time (10-15 minutes), and clean it up. Stop when the timer goes off. Then you can move onto something else - or not.

I've found that little-by-little is the easiest way to get things shipshape again.

Hang in there, @Empty.

I have the same cleaning routine as before all this happened. The only thing I've added is sanitizing phones, doorknobs and light switches more often than I did before. I have also set up my sewing machine on the dining room table and intend to leave it in place until the weather gets warmer and I can work outside.
