Is your library online

Our local library went online 2 years ago. I get to download free audio books and ebooks every week. They also have magazines.

If you like reading and or listening to audio books check out your local library.
I love to talk about some of the wonderful books Ive been able to listen to this way.

I've been using the library online for several years. It's great, although I did enjoy going to the library sometimes. It's nice and peaceful there. I never thought about getting magazines through the library, though. I'll need to check it out (literally). :)

Thanks for the info, I'm going to check out my town library. Because of being vision impaired, I get audiobooks through the mail from a program with the state Commission for the Blind. I also buy books from Audible.com. It would be great if our library is online.

Yes my library is online.. I started using it when the library removed most of the books ansd replaced them with computers, and the noise was unbearable as well as not being able to find any new books.

It's a long time since I used the library now, I tend to just buy books from Amazon at low prices, that way I get to keep them for as long as I want before donating them

Very much so! I didn’t use it till the shutdown as I don’t do audiobooks or ebooks but they have huge selections of those free. What I really enjoyed and still am is the huge collection of up to date magazines on line and I used that just about every day.on every subject, from froth to popular to scientific. & still am. Just like the real thing, ads & all. When I think about the $ I spent subscribing for various over the years, that are now free, just blows me away. They’re open again now with limited hours, no sitting, no public computers, all the precautions , and I still love getting that arm full of books.

Oh no! To hold a book in your hands, read and go back and re-read, couldn't do without it. I have shelves FULL of books
Personal preference, I guess.

I felt this way and really its the best. But since I oil paint I dont have time to do both. So I listen to audio books when Im painting.

Post #2-library is a place of peace, learning, a storage place of old and new societies. I've always been a bit excited when going to the library.
Local library has been shut since March; you can get phone in the author and title,-they bring the book to you in parking lot.
It is not the same

We've continued using the online library services since they closed due to COVID. Hubby downloads e-books. They then went to a system where they loaned books by putting them in paper bags and you had to pick them up on a certain time and day. Now, the libraries are open, but naturally have distancing, etc.

I prefer ordering books from Amazon, or borrowing from my sister. My books, I either keep or donate to the library.

Mine's been online for years. I've been able to reserve books and CDs online as well as get access to ebooks and audio books from my phone or iPad. It's really great. For a while our library was part of the Freegal system which allowed library patrons to download three songs a month for free from the Sony stable of record companies. This was great for me because I prefer having copies of songs rather than just streaming them.

Our city library's main branch is also the home of the San Jose State University library so we have access to a lot of great materials when it's open. Unfortunately it's only open for pick up of materials reserved online now.
