Israel Strikes Iran's Nuclear Facilities

Britain has deployed more jets to the Middle East after Iran threatened the United States and UK that it could retaliate if they come to Israel's defence amid fears the entire region will descend into war.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the conflict between the long-time foes needs to 'de-escalate' and that planes will offer 'contingency support across the region'.

It comes after Iranian-owned Mehr news agency warned: 'Any country that participates in repelling Iranian attacks on Israel will be subject to Iranian forces targeting all regional bases of the complicit government'.

France was also implicated in Iran's chilling threat, which came as Israel warned 'Tehran will burn' if Iran keeps targeting its civilians.

'The Iranian dictator is turning the citizens of Iran into hostages and bringing about a reality in which they - especially the residents of Tehran - will pay a heavy price because of the criminal harm to Israeli civilians,' said Defence Minister Israel Katz.

'If (Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali) Khamenei continues to fire missiles toward the Israeli home front - Tehran will burn.'

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said its raids had cleared its path to the capital.

'We have created aerial freedom of action from west Iran all the way to Tehran... Tehran is no longer immune,' said spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin.

I just read this: "Iran is now left counting its far-reaching wounds. Images from across Tehran show apartment blocks hit, it seems, in specific rooms – suggesting the pinpoint targeting of individuals, likely through tracking cellphones. Iran has lost its top three active-duty commanders, as well as a leading voice in nuclear talks, overnight, but as the dust clears it may emerge more have been hit, and the survivors will likely be concerned they, too, could still be targeted."

If Israeli missiles can now hit specific rooms in apartment houses, the leadership of Iran may be in serious danger!

you're correct, they did kill the leaders in their beds, they knew precisely which apartments to hit.... the capability to home in on a subject right into a specific room has been used for quite a while now

Jordan has suspended airspace until further notice due to the current strikes between Israel and Iran, according to the country’s state news agency.
During Iran’s retaliatory strikes on Israel, missiles and drones could be seen crossing the skies over Jordan, with interceptions spotted by our correspondent in its capital, Amman.

It's been confirmed the Shahran oil depot in Tehran has been hit by Israel.

Iran's oil ministry also says Israeli strikes have targeted the depot and a fuel tank in southern Tehran.

However, they add that the fuel levels at these two depots are not high and the situation is under control.

Tehran’s fire department had previously warned that the Shahran oil depot was high-risk because it is located too close to where people live in the city.

Yes, it's all about intent. The Islamic ideology is to rule the world and bring everyone under Islamic law or die trying. Israel has no such ambition to rule the world and force the laws of Judaism on everyone.

For some, I'm sure it is, but as is usually the case there is more to it. I have thought at times that it would be better to not get involved, forget about the Mideast, and let them slug it out with each other. And it would be nice if that's where it ended, but it won't. Violent societies spread their violence, and the rest of the world will get some of it whether they want it or not. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but societies want to expand and control.

I'm not offering a solution to this problem. I don't have one. I'm just making an observation. Am I perceiving it correctly? I don't know. But I am not set at ease by comforting words of assurance from people who have no say in the matter.

Inside Israel any Jew can take possession of any Arab's house and not pay a dime in compensation. Netenyahu has been ruling without risking elections for many years now. I believe 3 MILLION Arabs lost their houses and businesses when the Jews flooded in from Europe after the German Nazi genocide against them. The Jews learned very well from the Nazis and treated the Arabs as the German Nazis had formerly treated them with CONTEMPT!

Here in the USA we killed 4 million "Indians" who were the indigenous people. We also brought in 6 million black Africans as slaves to build our economy. Blacks have been second class citizens until the 1950's. Lynching blacks, who opposed anything, used to be common in our Southern states.

Read history and you will see that all religions, races and nations think they are #1 and all others must do what they say. Right now China keeps 2 million Muslims in concentration camps gassing the overflow if too many get born. Every group thinks they are "God's Chosen People." Being "Chosen" means all others coming in contact with them MUST die!

The human species is a very violent one. However, I heard that red ants, white ants (termites) and black ants are vicious enemies as well and go to war with each other on a regular basis. I suspect that after humans go extinct the ants will take over the planet and use the bones of dead humans to make fuel. They will also fight each other and kill millions of their own species.

I like to play a computer game called "Civilization VI." (Civilization VII has too many bugs.) The object is to conquer and exterminate all other peoples. I enjoy killing millions in that game. One starts in the Stone Age with one cave man carrying a wooden club. Near the end one's nation acquires jet bombers, modern armor, motorized infantry and gets the chance to exterminate all other peoples. It is great fun killing millions in that game. However, most of the time I lose and have all my own people totally exterminated. I play that game at the lowest AI level out of 8 possible AI levels.

Breaking news....
Israel has killed 14 Iranian nuclear scientists in a series of attacks that reportedly included car bombs, Iran has claimed.

Sources told Reuters that the attacks, which have taken place since Friday, were designed to cripple Iran's ability to create nuclear weapons. Local media reported Tehran was hit by five car bombs.

Since the escalating tit-for-tat attacks between Israel and Iran, the IDF has named nine scientists it has so far killed, resulting in Tehran looking like a war zone.


Tehran said at least 128 people were killed and hundreds more were wounded since Friday, while in Israel, children were among the at least 14 people who have died in Iranian strikes.

Iran said Israel struck two oil refineries near Tehran overnight, as well as the headquarters of Iran's Ministry of Defence, while Israel said that the death toll had risen to 10, as emergency workers frantically sift through rubble to try and find injured people.

An estimated 200 people in Israel were injured by the strikes. Israeli Raja Khateeb, his wife, and their three daughters were all reportedly among those killed in the Iranian strike on the town of town of Tamra, near Haifa.

The region braced for a protracted conflict after Israel's surprise bombardment of Iran's nuclear and military sites on Friday killed several top generals and nuclear scientists, and neither side showed any sign of backing down.

The Middle East conflict escalated on Thursday night after Israel unleashed an unprecedented aerial bombing campaign dubbed 'Operation Rising Lion', with Iran confirming missiles struck nuclear facilities, 'martyred' top commanders and killed dozens of civilians.

Iran has vowed to take revenge
 

Top Israeli defence official meets with defence firms to discuss weapons production acceleration​

Amir Baram, a director in Israel's defence ministry, has reportedly held a top-level meeting with the heads of Israel's biggest defence contractors.
He reportedly called for the pace of weapons production to be accelerated, and for enhanced levels of protection of critical infrastructure.
Baram said: 'Our defense is not hermetic.'

You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would!) some of the crazy things it "said" while I was testing for accuracy. When it makes a big error, I correct it and get "You are right!" and then gives another answer. One time (I think I mentioned this here before) it actually said "Oops, my bad" when it messed up. :rolleyes:
 
Some sources report that one of the first Iranian military big shots to be killed in the attacks was the one who masterminded the Iranian/Houthi attacks on the Saudi oil fields a few years ago.

But the U.S. blamed Iran, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeting, “There is no evidence the attacks came from Yemen.”

True. But can we trust North Korea, Pakistan and in the future Iran to think the same? I don’t know.
There are those who think the world‘s first nuclear war between two nuclear countries will be between two-bit dictators of small countries who get mad at each other.
