This morning this forum and one other one I am on I can only access using a VPN.
All very weird.DuckDuckGo,Safari and Firefox all the same.
Can those who understand these things shed any light on why this might be?
And is anyone else having the same problem?

Yes. I have had problems too. Tried on and off for a couple of hours this morning but no joy. Went into town, back home about 11.30 and still couldn't access it until about 13.15.

Ok, I'm going to show my computer ignorance.

What's a VPN?
Virtual Private Network I think it stands for.
it hides where you are and allows you to access geo-blocked stuff.
I could only get on the forum earlier by setting my location to Luxembourg.
And as I now know at least one other person had an issue.

Generally, I go to SF only on my laptop - where, a few days ago, every site I visited worked well except SF, so I tried using SF on my phone and it worked fine there. I then called my home WIFI provider to complain they appeared to be throttling me just on that one site, and they denied it (of course).

Ironically, soon afterward, all my home WIFI slowed down. I again called my provider, and they said I needed a new modem. I got one, and it helped for awhile, but then slowed down again. This morning, all is running fine.

Even though I'm constantly clicking and jumping around when logged into SF, I wouldn't think it would use enough data to cause an issue with my provider, but since the question has been raised by this thread, my suspicions toward the possibility of provider throttling have grown.

I asked Google if an internet provider can throttle just one site. Here's what I got:

Glad to know it worked itself out. Usually, it's the other way around - we are constantly blocking proxies and VPNs to fight spam.
I discovered my broadband provider had some serious issues yesterday…mainly affecting their E-mail service but it clearly affected access to here too.
