It can leave you seriously ill for months, possibly forever

If you have the idea that in younger people, this is just another respiratory infection like a cold, listen to these people still suffering from it, months after getting the infection.

I have posted this story in a couple of places, but I watched an interview with a young man, who had a mild case of the virus, then 3 months later went into multiple organ failure. This is nothing to ignore or minimize. They are saying that 40% of people that have had it, have long term effects.

Yes, they are learning new things about it every day. It's still too new for us to really have a handle on what the long term effects are, how long they will last, etc. But it's certainly not just another respiratory disease like a cold, that's becoming obvious.

So just surviving an episode of the virus is only part of the story. What will younger Americans do, the ones unable to work so without health benefits?

The 1%ers and their children will be OK but what about the rest? Has there been any dialogue about long term care for the ordinary young adult who survived but with major health issue? I've not seen any.

I definitely am having post COVID issues. Fatigue being #1. Also, my diastolic blood pressure is down in the low 50s which is dangerous. My sense of smell and taste have not fully returned, both are just marginal. O/2 levels are great though. Memory problems with me can be due to age or not being engaged in everyday life as before COVID.

Other respiratory issues can literally leave one scared for life depending on how long and how one's body was able to fight it off. Even a common cold or flu could lead to pnuemonia and/or scaring of the lungs. I don't know many people who had it but those that did had a tough time dumping it but also have a histoy of getting slammed with/not taking common respiratory issues too easy. It's like this virus is designed to go after the weak/weaker.
