"It is a selfless act": 900 customers pay for each other's meals at Dairy Queen in Minnesota

In early December, "Minnesota nice" got a little sweeter as each car passed through a Dairy Queen in the city of Brainerd.

"It started with a gentleman, he said how much is the person behind him?" employee Darla Anderson told CBS News. "He said, 'I will cover mine and theirs.' I was thinking it would be a few cars."

I saw this the other day on the news and I have to say that I don't understand why it is considered to be such a selfless act of kindness or generosity. The only person that really benefitted was the guy at the end of the line.

I would be more impressed if each of the 900 customers donated five bucks to the local food pantry.
