It May Be Good for Me, But I Won’t Eat It

How you described the way to cook them sounds like they may just taste pretty good to me.

You are apparently not genetically inclined to sneeze at the sun. I am. What I think happens in that the sunshine makes my eyes water which runs down to the nasal area which then tickles my nose and makes me sneeze.
I read that an increase in light can be misinterpreted by some nerves as an irritant. Or something like that.

I stopped eating raw oysters because of the danger not because they aren't delicious. I like all the other foods mentioned.

What I steer clear of are all the new milks such as oat, almond, soy, and rice because I don't know how to tell when they go bad. And since I would be the only one drinking them they might hang around for quite some time.

Nutella. I hate it. For some reason many young folks think that it’s healthy. The first ingredient is sugar. The second is palm oil. Third is hazelnuts. Etc. They should learn how to read a label. Do others have Nutella is your area?

Give me pure, natural peanut butter.
Palm oil was once considered bad. Now I understand some find it healthful.

I cannot stand Peanut Butter... Nothing is more repulsive to me than the taste of peanut butter...:sick::sick::sick:. oh and Olives...

That's another thing ( PB ) that is hundred times more popular in the USA than anywhere else in the western world..

make you wonder how these things happen...

I don't like yogurt, and won't eat it. I am going to try to like sometime soon, though, because it is so healthy to eat. That strategy worked with oatmeal, although it took 3 weeks. If it doesn't work with yogurt, oh well. I'll probably give yogurt 7 tries unless it is just to much to ask of myself.

I do not like Nutella by itself or spread on anything. When I bake brownies, I add a huge spoonful of Nutella to the batter. My daughter did this, and I liked those brownies a lot. I also like Ferrero Rocher chocolates, which a have Nutella-like center. Not surprising since Ferrero invented Nutella.

I will not eat sauerkraut or any fermented food or drink. No way, no how.

But fermented food is very healthy for the microbiome in our guts. And sauerkraut in former times was trod with bare feet :ROFLMAO: . Now they wear rubber boots in these factories. Not kidding, I watched a documentary on manufacturing sauerkraut.

yes I've never understood the cause of sneezing when looking at the sun... I've never had it myself...

With the Brussel sprouts the trick to not have them bitter is to choose small ones.. not big chunky ones...blanch them first then cook them for just a few minutes, then when they're cooked add butter to them...or add a little tiny sprinkle of brown sugar and white wine.........but did you know that sometimes Sprouts taste bitter to people due to their genes... and not at all to others..

they don't tsate bitter to me... whereas my daughter has always hated them..

And add some horse radish to the butter and Brussels sprouts become yummy.

For okra just make gumbo.

My no-go foods:

Mayo
Lima beans

Yogurt may be good for me, but there’s not a chance I’ll eat it. I’m not thinking of the commercially-flavoured kind. It makes me pucker up just thinking about it.
Jules, when I read your title, my mind was filled with "eeew, yogurt, definitely!" before I read your own answer. :giggle: I had a better time with eating it in the past, but now it's just something that turns my stomach.

I can't really think of anything else I can't eat that's healthy. I like Brussels sprouts and I like liver. Love oysters.

I've tried to like it, too, but it gags me. I finally realized that the little cups of flavored yogurt are seriously not too healthy at all. (I assume some have better stats.) I just looked it up... a container of Great Value Strawberry Banana yogurt has *22g* of sugar, and 16g of that is added sugar. Even Chobani Greek Vanilla has 18g with 14g added sugars. No thank you!

Any ‘healthy’ foods that you refuse to eat?

"Healthy" is subjective. I certainly wouldn't call Nutella "healthy". I've never tried kidneys or tripe but I think I would pass on those.

I generally prefer things to be plain & simple.

Siggi's non-fat Skyr (Icelandic yogurt). Ingredients: Pasteurized Skim Milk, Raspberry Puree, Cane Sugar, Fruit Pectin, Live Active Cultures. 10 g of sugar (which includes the 6 g of added sugar). It isn't overly sweet like most commercial yogurts are.

Teddy unsalted peanut butter. Ingredients: Peanuts. Imagine that!

Now that makes two people I know. My good friend from Australia also hates peanut butter. I eat it almost everyday and can't imagine anyone not liking it. Don't gag, but I eat it on whole wheat with lettuce and mayo.

I'll add to the oyster and liver hate.
