It was 60 years ago today that this album reached number 1 on the US album charts.

I have the album in it's original cover. It, and the record inside, are in excellent condition. Is it worth anything, does anyone know?

  • As of now, a mint condition original first pressing of Meet the Beatles! could range from $500 to $3,000 or more.
  • Reissues and later pressings are generally more affordable, often in the $10 to $50 range.
 
The only group in music history to have the top five spots on the Billboard Hot 100 (which happened in1964). Many people believe that is a feat that will never again be accomplished in music.

On a similar note, in 1978, the Bee Gees had 5 songs in the top 10 written by them.
 
And to think, their hair was considered so shocking back in the day when I was wearing a crew cut, so short that I didnā€™t even have to comb it! I can remember The Beatles disparagingly referred to as ā€œthe Mop Topsā€ā€¦ šŸ˜ø
 
After the JFK assassination, the world needed The Beatles.
