It was scary but.....

I'm not a dare devil at all.

I'll have to say it was getting on the Buccaneer ride at Magic Mt. 6 Flags in Valencia CA. It was like a huge ship that was swinging back and forth. My daughter told me to sit in the middle of the ride so I did the exact opposite and sat at one of the ends. It didn't dawn on me till too late that I would go higher off the ground than I would have if I had sat in the middle. I was so scared my whole body was shaking and my husband had them stop the ride. To my great embarrassment almost everyone on the ship started booing me! I was really surprised there were so many rude people on there!

I just looked on Youtube and found 4 videos of the Buccaneer. It doesn't look scary at all now. I wouldn't get on it again though.

I’m the biggest wimp you could ever meet, don’t think I even climbed a tree until I was about 12 ! so I don’t have an answer to this one :hide: ....:eek:mg1:

Walking into a crowded event alone can be terrifying for me.

Amusement ride called 'The Viking' still don't know why I was so scared on that ride. I loved roller coasters.

Everything is scary to me....

Flight simulator..the worst but was supposed to be fun.
Visiting lost caverns...
Climbing a fire tower...
Deep sea fishing..running into a waterspout.

And then..I looked in the mirror this morning..:eewwk:

When I was a kid I tried to ride down a steep flight of stairs on my bike. I flew over the handle bars and landed on the sidewalk with the bike on top of me. As a teen my friend and I paddled out into the ocean in a tube from Sandy Hook NJ. The tide took us out a lot further than we expected and we couldn't get back . We finally left the tube and tried to swim in. We made it but we were quit a distance from our starting point. We were scared half to death and had to pay for the tube we rented for the day.

Got in a plane with my boss

‘C’mon, Gary, let’s go up!’

It was a ’48 trainer
Tail dragger
Prop start
Two seats, front, back

We took off from Cedar Hills airport
Landed at Scappoose airport
Had coffee
He had me sit in the front seat when we got back in

Once back up in the air, he handed me the stick
Quite fun, stick left, go left, stick back, go up, stick forward go down

‘OK Gary, level it off’

Then it went all quiet

Just the whooshing of air

Mike, my boss, began to cuss a blue streak
Mike never cussed

Later, he explained that he’d turned the key off, to put a scare into me
Thinking the prop would keep wind milling

It froze

The engine was tight from a recent rebuild

He had me hand the stick back to him
Felt I was in wunna those zany slapstick cartoons

Thought, well, here I am, gonna die at the ripe old age of 17
Wonder where we’ll splat

We came in to a pasture beside Cedar Hills airport
A one shot deal
Called a dead stick landing
THAT was not the only dead stick in the cockpit

Once we landed and got out, he began to laugh historically
‘You should see yer face!’
Face, my butt, my legs were like rubber
Kissing the ground was rather tempting

Told me later we were never in as much trouble as it looked, since we had enough air speed and altitude

Yeah, right Mike

I owe you one

The "Big Shot" ride, at the top of the Vegas hotel, The Stratosphere," was the scariest ride I was ever on. The guy sitting next to me was actually crying when he got off of it.

I've ridden the Big Shot four times and, yes, it's really scary. I remember thinking, "this thing isn't going to stop at the top and I'll be orbiting the earth."

They also had a ride that had an arm that swung out over the side. You'd sit it a rollercoaster-type seat and shoot out on the track until you hit the end (at least you hoped it was the end). As much as I love thrill rides, I drew the line at that one; just couldn't do it.

Originally they had planned a "King Kong" ride where a big figure of King Kong climbed up the Strat, holding riders in his paw. That one fizzled out quickly.

That mirror thing is very scary alright.

Like an old song lyric, saw a strange reflection, is that lonely woman really me.

a bit OT, but prompted a memory of a poster I made last decade or so

It is more boredom than lonely I think.
We use to be very outgoing and loved to dance but hubby hasn't been able to dance for 15 years now. So I dance alone to music here. We did go out last year once and it was fun.Hubby watched and I danced, lol.
