These are my favorite flowers. We try to grow some each season. Love them in all their varieties.

I love sunflowers and see lots of them a few miles away in farming areas, but I have never seen crimson coloured sun flowers. They are beautiful.

We have wild Black-Eyed Susan's. They are a smaller variety of sunflower.

I grew one last year in my back garden. Expected it to be 5-6 feet tall but it ended up around 12 ft. high. The leaves were surprisingly big as well!

Around here there are a couple of first ventures parents often suggest to a child who's not quite certain s/he is interested in gardening. Plant a few zucchini seeds and plant a few sunflower seeds.
