It's discriminatory.

A man's basic haircut costs maybe $ 20 +

A womans anywhere from$ 40-50 plus tip. Some women's trim takes no longer than a man's but may cost twice the price.

The same with women's razors-shirts-dry cleaning-etc.

They're getting ripped off!

I'm a woman and my haircuts cost $15. I usually go when I receive a coupon in the mail for a $12 haircut. So the most, with tip for me, is $20. I use an old single edge razor also, doesn't cost much at all to replace the blade a couple of times a year. Rarely use dry cleaners for my clothes, so can't comment on that.

Women get perms and coloring.........men don't get that! My wife's upcoming perm/trim will cost around $110, but that last time she got a perm was in Aug. 2013. I get my hair cut every month for $13, which adds up to $130 a year. I pay more than she does!

Actually, my wife does her own coloring, so she saves on that from a Beauty Salon. She does her own nails/coloring. She's just not that "petite", just "average" (she says).

She gets very little-to-no dry cleaning done. We don't go places where she need that nor does she need it at work. If she has something that needs ironing, her dear old hubby (CR/me) does it.

I do my own coloring too CR, saves a bunch of money and I can use the more natural coloring without all the chemicals in it if I choose to. Nails, I just clean and cut myself, maybe once a year in summer will put some color on my toe nails, myself. I only got one mani/pedi in my life, and that was for a special occasion, but I don't like other people working with my nails. Also have heard of many folks getting infections from the cheaper salons who don't properly sanitize their tools from one customer to another.

I pay £20.00 with tip; not much seeing that I get it dried beautifully for me!
i don't perm or colour though...

I cut the boyfriend's hair; unfortunately, I don't trust him to cut mine. I get $15 haircuts...$20 with tip. I let my grey grow out a few years ago, so no money spent on coloring, home or otherwise. As for razors....he has a beard and for some reason the hair on my legs have stopped growing much, so not much money spent on blades, either.

I pay about $40 for wash, cut and blow dry. But I'm particularly fussy about cuts so I probably wouldn't go to a place like Great Clips for $15.00.

I always liked my hair very short and straight, and it is too expensive, at least for women, to keep getting a boy-type cut over and over. I hate going to barbers/beauty parlors. I refuse to pay money for someone to simply wash my hair, and they don't like that.;) So I just learned to cut it myself. It took some patience, but now I can do it rather quickly. I'll do a home perm when I get bored with that look. With a perm it doesn't matter much how good the cut is, anyway. Don't color either.

Hubby shaves his own head,so doesn`t spend anything on haircuts. Almost always shaves with electric so nothing there, either. I rarely get haircuts-I`m rarely happy with how anyone cuts my hair-it`s not their fault-I just have sucky hair. So I just let it grow and wear a ponytail. When I get tired of that,I`ll get it cut, hate it (usually) and do it all over again lol. When I DO manage to find someone I like, they always end up moving out of town. No doubt because if they can cut my hair decently, they are good, and can make more money elsewhere :( When I do get a haircut,it`s always around $50.00. I have always colored my own hair-the one time I let a professional color it,she charged $110.00 (and that was YEARS ago,and she botched it terribly! I had yellow hair-ugh.

jujube-leg hair does almost stop growing as you age. The ONE thing I have found that is good about getting old! :)

How about prices on other stuff,. Ladies shavers more than mens. Purchase very similar shirt/bouse and it's 25% more.

I don't pay more for shirts....or dry-cleaning; not that I do a lot of either!
i pay a lot less for razors than my husband used to; maybe I am just mean!

I knew a guy years back from Louisana who cut his own own hair. he set up mirrors all around. impressive

Check out the Beauty schools in your area, I get a wash, cut and dry for $8 and also a tip. Manicure,
$4. Used to cut hubby's hair and my own. When turning gray, I just let it come in. If you would like to cut your own hair go to youtube.com lots of how to's there

Like many men my age I'm seriously hair challenged and a competent barber could cut my hair in about two minutes, add another minute on the stuff growing in my ears. My current barber then does some make work activities like maybe trimming the one eyebrow hair I still have and I'm out of the chair in 5 minutes tops. I think it's men who are getting discriminated against when it comes to haircut prices.
