It's Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday today. He made it.

Oh wow... well it's not entirely true than that all the good die young....

Happy Birthday to Jimmy Carter... I hope he still has all his marbles working even if his body isn't doing so well...

This from his grandson today...

As America celebrates its longest-lived former president Jimmy Carter on his 100th birthday, his grandson warned that he is ā€œvery limited in what he can do.ā€

ā€œHe’s very limited in what he can do,ā€ Jason told the network. ā€œHe can’t talk on the phone.ā€

He is, however, following the news.

When his family asked him whether Carter was excited for his milestone birthday, Jason recalled his grandfather saying: ā€œI’m excited about that but I’m really excited to vote for Kamala Harris.ā€

I'll just offer this: Operation Eagle Claw.

I wish no ill will on the man, to be clear. He did great work for charity, but he was an inept, bumbling president.

He is in hospice so that should tell us something.
What I find most disgusting is that the grandson used this good man's birthday as a campaign endorsement. From what I've heard, Jimmy is in no shape to be saying who he "can't wait to vote for" or be "excited about voting for...." Man, I hate to see people taking advantage of the elderly for their own agenda.

Probably was an inept president precisely because he is a good man. Recently read an interesting Dec 6 1980 Washington Post Op Ed re Carter by the novelist James Michener.

Yes, even in comparison to many of his own party he was a good president. I agree.
