It's only 9:30 PM PST and I'm ready for bed. What time do you pack it in at night?

I have been up since 5:30 AM this morning. walked about 4 miles today, had a nice fish and chips lunch with my daughter with two glasses of wine, went swimming at 4 PM, spent a couple hours on the computer with a glass of wine and avocado chips. Went for another swim at 6:30 PM and took my summer salad, cheese & crackers and wine to have poolside for my dinner. Went back to my apartment and put my sheets & laundry in the washer, vacuumed my living room floor, took a shower and washed off the clorine, made my bed. The heat of the day 100+ F takes it's toll and tires one I suspect and tomorrow will bring another hot day.so I guess it's no wonder that I am ready for bed,but there is another part of me saying, hey, it's too early for bed. Stay up and watch a movie, which I will probably do for another hour or so, but first a bowl of peaches and cream.
Think I will sleep in tomorrow till 8 AM. Ah yes---major decisions of a retiree with no heavy schedule.

I pack it in early too, Lon, but I don't do half as much as you do. I just require a lot of beauty sleep. :)

Sounds like you had a lovely day, Lon! I wake up when husband does and sometimes it's as early as 6. On my MWF gym days I get up at 6:50 so I can catch the bus at 8. This morning we got up at 7:30. I normally stay up until 11 but husband goes to bed between 9:30 and 10ish.

It all depends. If it's a working day I'm up at 5am to leave for work around 7am..out of the house for 12 hours , get home do chores and cooking, then bed by 10 at the latest, sometimes 9pm...I'm naturally a night owl, so it's hard for me to be disciplined about going to bed so early but I have to..but on my days off I stay up until my eyes are closing..

I'm back to work next week after after 17 days off holiday ...so I'm gonna be shattered the first few nights..

We are usually in bed between 9 and 9:30.. Sometimes as early as 8:30 if we are tired.. I'm up at 4:15 am though.. When I am not working, I usually get up around 6 am.

I don't ever seem to get sleepy or tired anymore. But once I go to bed I don't want to jump out in the morning either. I think it's this new mattress (extra firm). So I am a nightowl. Try to get to bed by 12:30 am. Sometimes, like last night it was 3:00am. I know having a fixed schedule is more productive, but I can't do it. Get caught up on some interesting topic on the internet and can't leave it alone.

To bed @ 10p.m. to watch late news. Then to sleep. About 10:30-11p.m. But I do sleep 'til 7:30a.m.

I get loads of "beauty sleep" ... trouble is, it doesn't seem to do much [ if any! ] good!!

I'm usually in bed by 10, read until I can no longer understand what I'm reading, lately I've started taking a nap in the afternoon so my night time sleep is less.

I wish I could be that active. I'm in pretty good health except my legs are bad. I can walk, but its a real adventure.
I'm ready for bed at 6AM, 10AM, 12:30PM, 2PM, 5PM, 9PM, Midnight, 2AM, 3AM, 6AM,..Oh. I already said that.
It sounds like you are having a really happy life, Lon. That's great. I'm a big fan of happy. Enjoy it.

Ameriscot, and hollydolly, you two seem to post a lot at the same time. I was looking at the pictures of the two of you on another thread, and they just came across as two really nice people. The pictures are tiny, so I guess I'm just projecting what I get from your posts. Maybe its the sun glasses?
:cool2:

I usually go to bed about 9:30 and I'm up between 5:00 and 5:30. I wake up around that time regardless of how late I stay up. To keep myself from dragging the next day, I turn in at 9:30.

Thanks! :) Yes, Holly and I are in the same time zone.

Beyond a doubt, Lon, yer one fortunate guy! Quite a few years your junior, I can and still do similar activity, but often wonder about, say, age 80. The aches, stiffness, loss of muscle tone, keep advancing despite my sometimes struggling to overcome them. Still, overall, I cannot complain. Since we live in a very popular area for retirees, I get to see everyday examples of guys I estimate to be my age, or less, struggling to make it through their next hour! The oxygen tanks, especially, seem to be a pitiable way to exist. A great proportion of respiratory problems might have been totally avoided.

Keep up the good work, Lon! imp
