I aged out of jury duty some years ago. The one time I was selected to serve they forgot to bring street clothes for the defendant and he was in prison garb. They did not proceed.
I was on jury duty for several days. Then they excused several alternates. We didn't know who they would be. I was one of them. I was about 73 at the time. I was the oldest one there, and I found it hard from dosing off. It should be just for younger people.
Reading this, I’m not sure I’d want a senior on the jury if I were the defendant. They might be my peers, but I’d like to know they were cognizant of the details and awake.
