Matcha green hot tea. It is the first cup of Matcha tea I have ever drunk. It does not take much of the matcha powder to make a cup
of green tea, as I like it. It took me a while experimenting to determine how strong I like it but I must say I like it. Even when I had it a little
strong i could tell it was going to be a fine drink. I've had to heat the cup in the microwave twice as I experimented getting the right
strength, whisking it just so to get the foam on top. I used to have a little hand mixer. It was electric but two speed and the top speed
was not that fast. It would be perfect but guess I threw thay one away.
Nevertheless, this cup of tea reminded me of the very first cup of hot tea ever I drank. It was in Japan, down the coast south from
Yokohama to Shurazuma where I spent almost three weeks on R&R. I spent that long due to all craft helping to pull the French out of
Indo China. I went in to a restaurant and a young lady asked what I'd have. A cup of tea, say I. Her next question baffled me. She asked
if I wanted black or green tea. I didn't know there was a green tea but I remembered my mom boiling water and throwing some black tea
in the pan and boiling it a few minutes, then turning it into iced tea. So I said to the young lady, black tea. It was terrible and bitter. I could
barely get it down.
This Matcha tea is a fine drink, after you find your blend. But I dare say it is not for everyone. I've been a black hot tea drinker for years.
I'm about out of all my black leaf teas. I'm going to cut most of them out. Keep an Assam black and spend more time with this
green Matcha tea. I never cared for plain green tea but I think I'm going yo get along fine with the Matcha. Cheers.
