I've been looking for a good senior forum...and I've looked a lot!

I just got a positive feeling here when I visited here. The registration process was nice and quick, not a bunch of CAPTCHA hurdles to jump, etc.
I love to discuss politics among like minded folks but its a relief to see a "no politics" sign, too.
Lke "Bellesfleurs" I live in a state that doesn't tax pensions. I earned my pension and have the ulcers to prove it. LOL
About me: My husband and I have been (almost) daily runners for (almost) 40 years. We got started due to health reasons and kept it up. We run a 5k everyday. I'm 75 he's 76.
Our day revolves around running - in the park, then yoga, playing with our dog, then shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. Lol - cleaning last!
We love movies, old and new, plays, concerts, computer time searches and surfing, some family stuff but not much. Everybody does their own thing - maybe see each other once a year if that. I'd like to be closer but I know everyone is busy.
I'm a marginal crocheter and painter. He's a playwright and photographer. Just the two of us. We met late in life (almost 40) and 'so glad we did.
We are into alternative medicine when we can but 'know western medicine can't be avoided when you are really ill.

Well, that's me...

Hi there Jamie. I have been here a few years, and it does seem to be one of the best of the bunch. I tried the AARP one and did not like it. There are nice friends here, and we have fun.
​Another good thing is that everyone is very supportive. A few of us (myself included) have lost spouses in the past few months. Everyone bands together to show friendship and just be a listening ear.
 
Welcome "Jamie" from SW Pa. There is a forum just for games and that's where I spend most of my time but let me warn you, it is very addictive.:eek:nthego:

Welcome Jamie Cat. I myself also joined yesterday and I have to agree with you that this place is extremely friendly. I already feel comfortable here.
 
:)Welcome and agree with all you say in your OP and the other members that followed. I joined in mid November /19 and enjoy my time on here a lot. It's the first International forum I have joined (I am in the UK) and easy to navigate and any queries are replied speedily by Mods and other members who are very helpful and friendly
