Arrrgh!!!! So sick I can't get comfortable. The cough is now starting, have gone through the nonstop runny nose, horrible, horrible cough and body aches so bad my hair even hurts. Yes, I did get my flu shot, perhaps it was a dud.
 

Debbie I sympathise, I have it too, minus a major cold, just sinus stuff. It has been hanging on. So much for this year's flu shot. First flu in over a decade. Almost three weeks of feeling punk, although not supremely ill.
 
There are four strains of flu this year but some shots were only good for the one. My doc told me that. Debbie, I don't know if Theraflu (think that's what it's called) would help? I hope it doesn't last too long, it is misery. Get well soon!
 
I'm just feeling like I'm truly over a similar thing. It lasted about 10 days, and the worst part about it was the horrible cough so that I couldn't sleep. I think mine was just a horrible cold that turned into bronchitis.
 
Sorry to hear that Debbie, hope you get over it quickly. I haven't taken flu shots in years and haven't had the flu either, but I've known a lot of folks who get the shot and get sick too. Get plenty of rest and take care.

Same here. I get flu shots every year because I never,ever want to get as sick as I did back in 1972 again. So this is the first time since then that I did get sick anyway,but let me tell you,this has been nothing compared to what flu normally feels like. No body aches at all-the worst symptom has been this horrible cough. I`m sure having the shot kept me from getting as sick as I would have.
 
My wife and I have had the flu shots, regularly, for years - - haven't had the flu during that time either. Do they work? I have no idea but we'll keep taking them anyway. No reason not to that I can think of??
 
Worst case of the flu I ever had was after a Disney cruise about nine years ago. After cruising in the worst of the flu season with what seemed to be five thousand children coughing and sneezing up green stuff, I came home and got really, really sick. Ten days off work and I felt bad for six weeks.
 
Sorry to hear that. I heard it was prevalent around my part of the world around Christmas but none of my family were affected, thankfully. Good luck. Stay warm and comfortable. :unhappy:
