Chinese billionaire Jack Ma has been missing in action. The Alibaba founder has reportedly not been seen in public since October, the same time when he had hit out at the ruling Communist regime in China. Earlier, People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party, reportedly stated that Ma is now ‘embracing supervision’ at an undisclosed location. Later, however, the newspaper website removed the story.

I was down in D.C. the past 4 days and spoke to some very experienced investors. There are 14 people in a consortium that I belong to and 5 of them are what I refer to as high roller investors. They are very intelligent, very experienced in investing and have been very successful. Before we began our meeting on Wednesday, we were sitting at the table being served coffee and pastries and just having conversations with one another when Ma’s name came up. The guesses that I heard was that he probably went to Taiwan (I doubt it), Hong Kong (I doubt it), Vietnam or Thailand. The last person who took a shot at it said he thought he was probably killed by the CCP.

I have read several sources state that if you live in China, one thing they will not tolerate is speaking against the party. Not a place for me to live. Maybe Ma insulted them.
