Janis Joplin, were any of you fans of hers?

My sister (works at a public library) texted to ask me if hubby was a Janis Joplin fan? Boy, was he! Well, she tells me that someone donated to the library a box of her CDs. Janis Joplin [Tin Box] by Janis Joplin (CD,2008, 3 Discs, Madacy) is still in its' tin box and the wrapper. He's all excited and can't wait to receive them.

Love Janis, was fortunate to see her live and it sure hurt a lot that she died so young. Unique in every way.

Not a fan ever! I once borrowed her "Greatest Hits" CD from the library. In every song she yelled and she screamed. It really sounded like she was totally "bombed out of her mind." Good comment from Chet:

Yes Chet, on this list would be Jim Morrison, Elvis Presley and that guy Courtney Love married. I think people are so desperate for heroes, they are choosing losers on drugs. There are many better choices, if you ask me. Try Mother Teresa or John F. Kennedy. How about Martin Luther King?

The way in which a person dies doesn't negate their talent or successes in life. None here are glorifying her death, but are discussing the pleasure she gave in her life and the body of work she left behind.
