There is no nature section so I'm placing this in General Information.

It has been said that the most intelligent of birds are the parrots and cockatoos. They are also long lived and so are able to learn quite a lot over time.

This article, complete with photos, is about adaptions observed in wild sulphur crested cockatoos living in urban environments. They are amazing and annoying at the same time.

I love them! I've always thought they beautiful birdies!

"It's a resource they're using to allow them to exist in these areas. And I think it's pretty amazing they've managed to do this," Dr Aplin said.

Considering the size of a bird's head, and thus its brain, you have to wonder how so little can do so much. It's not only birds, but squirrels, too. The tiny guys can figure out how to crack those man made "impossible to crack" bird feeders. The more we know about other living beings, the less specialized we become. It's getting harder and harder to name characteristics that only human have. For me, it's kind of cool to have a kinship with all the other animals.
