Jitterbug Flip Phones

None here, but just yesterday we had lunch with a couple(friends from work), who are younger(mid forties); she still uses a flip phone, used it while we were at the restaurant. I don't know why she is "antii-tech", but I know one thing- she won't have smartphone virus or hacking problems...;)

Tnthomas, I'm talking about the JITTERBUG flip phone.

I'm curious too, they've advertised them in AARP magazine for quite awhile. They sound like what I'm looking for...low tech and big numbers:D

I know there's a whole world of people texting but I just don't feel the need for it. Any buttons you see on modern phones keep getting tinier and tinier...then again I probably need new glasses too;)

Since my wife's last cancer surgery, she's been texting like a 14 yr. old. ;) I miss buttons, I can't say that I like the touch/swipe features at all. PIA.

My MIL had dementia so we picked the simplest Jitterbug phone. Nokias are not great phones (I think they use Samsung now) but it was perfect for her. Great big #s so easy for her to call her friends/family. She was not going to text anyone, could barely handle email, so we stuck with simple/cheap for her.

No problems with service in 2 yrs. When she died we canceled the service, again no issues.

I am still using a flip phone, it is not a Jitterbug, but it has the ability to retrieve e-mail, take pictures, play music and text. I only use it for the phone though.
