Judge Judy or hot Bench

Does anyone here watch these shows?
I was going to put this under entertainment however my questions is not about the shows but the cases. Many of these cases seem to be “its about me or its not my fault. Has anyone asked themselves what part they played in these? Why are we playing the “victim” card so much?

I think there has to be a "victim" in a civil court case. Somebody has to be a plaintiff after all. So therefore, there must be a defendant.
I’m not really talking about “victim hood” I hear enough about that. I’m talking about personal responsibility.

I would say first, the Plaintiff who came to court to have a wrong against them righted.

Further on, we see the Defendant not only defending him/herself, but counter suing for wrong done to him too. So, 2 victims,
Maybe I should not have used the TV SHOWS as my premis. I see this got moved to entertainment so my point was missed by all.

I used to watch JJ many years ago.. decades ago actually.. but got tired of the same old same old... if I heard KISS one more time..I would have screamed...😖
WE have our own Made for TV court shows here... which I watch occasionally..

I don't watch these much. I really can't stand Judge Judy because of the way she verbally attacks. I like the female judge from People's Court. She's firm but not mean.

But when you say everyone is a victim, can you site specific cases that bothered you? I know I had watched several where it was "no she gave me the money" she says "no it was a loan" and the "we were going to get married" Until they broke up and then both parties had differing ideas about the money.

But what about someone walking their dog and another dog attacks them. Or thrashed rentals. I can't remember every case but there are victims sometimes and other times there are just people with messed up situations.

JJ is a reality show. It's TV-very little of it is for real. Both parties get about $3-5,000, after applying to the show. The premise is a courtroom, but the "cases" are pretty much scripted, so that JJ can give the lousy person the what for. The producers know who makes good day time TV, so they are coached. As to the validity of the cases-it is TV.
