July Deadliest Month When It Comes To Drunk Driving

Alcohol, and hot weather, are not "compatible". The hot weather increases a person's metabolism, and even 2 or 3 beers on a hot day can affect a person's judgement and reactions.

I notice beer drinkers in particular start drinking one beer after another like it's their job. I don't think I could even drink water at the rate. And the idiots rationalize their excessive consumption because 'it's hot'. Well duh it's hot for everyone.

To top it off alcohol dilates the blood vessels which allows internal body heat to go to the extremities which are already hot so now they're sweating and feeling even hotter. What's their solution: another drink.

It doesn’t matter how safe vehicle manufacturers make their vehicles, if you put a drunk behind the wheel and send him down the freeway or put him/her on a divided highway, catastrophe is only the blink of an eye away.

For Sure! No matter how much auto manufacturers improve the vehicles, there is nothing they can do about a drunk or nut behind the wheel. We live in a very rural area, with mostly 2 lane roads, and no road shoulder. I have substantially sharpened my "defensive driving" skills since we moved here. Every vehicle I meet on a curve requires extra vigilance, and even in the middle of the day dodging cell phone users can be a challenge. Anymore, there is No Way I plan on going anywhere on a Friday or Saturday night when the bars are doing their heavy business.

That's a surprise to me. I would have guessed December due to all the holiday partying.
