I had a basil flavored gelato a few years ago when I was in Italy. After days of ordering various gelato cones with some variation of chocolate in them, I thought I would try something different. It was very good.
Jace every month is National Ice Cream month for me. My two favorites are Haagen Daz vanilla and HD rum raisin.
Next is Friendly's Royal Banana Split
but lately I've been buying Friendly's mini sundaes...fudge and/or cookie dough.
$3.27 for 48 ounces at Walmart. I''m content just to occasionally enjoy inexpensive vanilla and have caramel, strawberry, and chocolate syrups I will add onto. Ice Cream is one of the few foods that I tend to add weight from.
I'm not supposed to eat ice cream (lactose intolerant) but then life wouldn't be worth living. My current fave is Ben & Jerry's Phish Food. It has chocolate, marshmallow cream and chocolate chips. I do also like plain vanilla. Again B&J gets my money.
Rum and raisin, a small scoop, very very occasionally, it's heavenly. I mostly avoid ice-cream along with most gorgeous foods due to diabetes. It's a disappointment to me as I loved ice-cream as a child.
or, what I call 'My Nervous Month', because lots of people may want to visit me and expect some ice cream, then me, I'd have to lie and say, "Sorry, I don't have any, I hate the stuff". Then after they have left and disappeared through my front gate, I'd have to rid myself of tension with a large bowl of cornish vanilla.
When
visiting my A&U (young 8, 9,10)
we 3 girl cousins were given money
to go to the ice cream shop down the street
my first taste of French Vanilla.
Oh! My
My son got me something I've never tried for my b-day. I took a taste, it was interesting and different... but I have not decided if I like it. Tho, I only took a few bites - so I have a tub to get thru before I decide if I would have it again.
