July the fourth, early addition

I just found out our city fireworks show will be this evening the 3rd. Of all things you would think it would be Friday. Got meds down the dogs to keep them calm. You might check your local area for early fireworks to either medicate or bring pets in for safety.

My nearest fireworks Neighbor is a quarter mile away. Since July 4 is tomorrow night that means all their city dwelling friends will converge on their property to shoot off fireworks resembling sticks of dynamite, the entire weekend.

They have already started with a few tonight as a warm-up.

One dog barks. The other dog just looks at me and says now what. I may have to get out the CBD meds for them tomorrow.

My horses will go to the barn and stay there if the fireworks continue for too long.

I will say for as enthusiastic as these folks are about shooting off noisy fireworks, they will stop by 11 or 1130 so at least we can all sleep.

it also doesn’t hurt that they know the neighbor an eighth of a mile away from me on the other side is a county deputy sheriff.🤠🤠

The BOOMING has been going on for nearly two hours. I don't think they ever have the fireworks on the 4th. This is the city production. Neighbors from streets around, started two weeks ago with the cherry bombs and assorted noisemakers.

I don't even consider going to bed till the noise is over. It's sounding like the crescendo now.

Hope everyone's pets and loved ones are calm and secure during the noise.

My city was done, then a nearby city started. One dog is nodded out, the big 90lb, I should give him 2 pills, he is still freaking out. Funny enough, my only girl dog, the smallest and the oldest is chill. I guess she is just over it, just like me. I used to think I had to go and watch, no more, I am over it, especially tonight,
America is no longer America. Sad, sad, sad..

Things in the neighborhood are better. We did have a couple of young guys, brothers for a while but they started having money troubles. They took in boarders to help with cost, mortgage, property taxes, etc

They were young men that thought is was okay to shoot of fireworks, and worse to fire guns. They were quickly relieved of that idea by the police. The brothers lost the house due to unpaid taxes.

It has actually been really quiet here in our neighborhood , at least thus far. We have had a few people shoot off a fireworks or two, but not like we usually have. Most years, it seems like it goes from late June until well after July 4th.
We always have the dogs inside on holidays like this when we expect loud noises, and they can do all of their outside running around during the day, for the most part,
Poodle has pretty much gotten over his fear of thunder and loud booms, but he still likes to be close to me when there is a storm , or when there is a lot of fireworks and loud booming from that.

Fireworks of all kinds are prohibited in our neighborhood, but some cannot read, I guess.
