@OneEyedDivaSeveral decades ago, I started dating a Jamaican man and we would go to a Jamaican club in town. It helped fuel my appreciation for Reggae (beyond Bob Marley). This became one of my favorite Reggae songs.
And speaking of the great Bob Marley, this is my favorite by him. I love how the guitar player makes the instrument almost sound like it's "saying" the words "movement of Jah people". And Wow...this is my first time seeing the video, an extended version!
@Pecos @Paco Dennis @Peppermint Patty @ChiroDoc @Pinky @Marcy Sheiner
I'm so glad my post did that for you@OneEyedDiva
This music has brought back good memories of going to West Indian clubs with work friends who were from Jamaica, Trinidad, and Barbados. We had so much fun together.

Thanks so much for starting this thread, Diva. Definitely enhanced the month of June."The month of June is set aside to appreciate the contributions of African-American musicians, composers, singers, and songwriters in American culture."
The contributions of my people to the music industry whether with R & B, Gospel, Blues, Latin, the Classics and Opera are priceless. Many famous Pop and Rock artists including Mick Jagger, the Beatles and Elvis have been inspired by and even copied the styles of Black artists. There have been notable collaborations, as well.
One of my Facebook friends issued a challenge...post one song per day of your favorite songs by Black artists.
