We keep hearing about scams in spam emails and junk
snail mail, well I got one last week!

Quote: "we are trying to contact somebody with your name
about an old insurance policy, if you think that it is you, please
call ******".

It was me!

I had bought an insurance policy in the 1980s when I worked in
the South Atlantic and forgot about it, I found the policy a couple
of months ago, but the company was gone and I hadn't got round
to following it through to see where it went.

So now I am waiting for a phone call from the new owners of my
arrangement.

Better than finding £20 in a coat pocket.

Mike.

Ooooh, great. I hope it's a lot more than 20 pounds!

I do hope that is truly good news, Mike, but how CAN one be 100 % certain?

Whatever you do don’t release that policy till you call the company that holds it, make sure you get their number yourself. You can’t trust anyone anymore! Good luck.

yes, I myself would want a third party to verify that they are the "new owners"
