Hi Dave

Welcome. I'm new here too. What brings you to this site? I am just, hmmm, not bored, but not used to having all this free time.

Hi Jim
Thanks for the welcome, I joined here if I am totally honest, because I am looking for a forum where I can chat to people around my age group about anything or nothing? have a laugh, be serious, BUT not end up in a slanging match.
I have been a member of a number of Forums, mainly UK based, and have become very disillusioned with Forums in general, but thought that there has to be a decent one somewhere on the net, so did a google search, found this one, and thought lets give it a try it looks good on the outside. and that is my story?

Hi again,
i haven't participated in any forums so I haven't had any experiences, good or bad. The people here seem very friendly. Lets hope that it turns out well for us!

I am a senior Citizen of MANY years standing I am happy to say :D when i said lone Wolf I meant being from the UK, as it looks like most of the members on here are based in the USA

Hi Dave!

I always love to interrogate people from other countries because I have never made it out of the U.S. (except for a few excursions into Canada which is only a couple of hours away)I love to see pictures or hear about "life and times" in other countries. I also have alot of English in my ancestry, so I have a particular fascination with that part of the country. I was wondering if you have ever lived in the U.S. or even visited here for very long? If you have done either, how would you compare it here vs the UK.? What did you find objectionable about the Forums that you were on in the UK?

Hi Dave,
Well, lets talk. Are you "retired?" What are you retired from? Did you find retirement a big change? I'm still getting accustomed to it...they tell me it takes some time. How do you pass the time? Have you taken any jobs, or volunteered, or something like that? I have found that I don't really miss "working," I just miss being around people. At work there was always someone to talk to! It's a pretty big change in your life, don't you think?
As for me...well, for the first time in many years I have a significant other and we will be married this weekend. I have a small home based business but its seasonal, and I haven't decided if I am going to pursue it after this year or not. I am pretty much "on hold" right now, just waiting to feel normal again before I commit to anything!!!
