I really do have to say something holly, and sorry to pee on your parade, but are you saying Germans cannot be charming? I'm not German myself, but I have met some very lovely German people and excuse me, but I beg to differ. Sounds like negative stereotyping to me.

Cookie..blimey, it's just a light-hearted game.:rolleyes:..I have friends who are German who are perfectly lovely..but I've also lived and worked in Germany and the vast majority that I came into contact with were less than charming!!

Probably because since retirement my favorite day is Monday and least favorite day is Saturday. Has more to do with traffic and TV schedules than anything deep. :)

Naturally, you are a person of very high self-worth. You are what people consider to be a very high-quality human being. The kind of person everyone aspires to be (and be with). My father was German, and he was a very nice and charming man, my Mom especially thought so. :sentimental:

Cookie the nationality wasn't ''trashed''...I didn't accuse a nation of being terrorists or thieves, or murderers ...I made a light hearted comment about Germans not being charming..on a fun thread. I'm Scottish, we get jokes all the time about being tight with money..not true, but if it had been said on a fun thread like this..I would have laughed along with everyone else..

I've already said that I have german friends who are nice people, my maternal grandfather was a German prisoner of war and was charming) ...but I have also worked and lived in germany and known many Germans who weren't.

You're taking this way too seriously, taking umbridge about lack of charm on behalf of another nation other than your own, and creating a problem on a lighthearted thread about it, is definitely less than charming!!

If you're looking for me to wear a Hair shirt about this, then look elsewhere.. ''My dear''!!!
 
I've known many many people who were not charming as well, holly, including English, But I don't think I would lump them all into a nationality.
And I agree, not charming of me at all for pointing this out and spoiling your fun. Not looking for a hair shirt, but perhaps a little self-flagellation might be fun. Repent!
