Just heard interesting fact...

93% of Americans earn less tham.$150,000 annually.
I would imagine that's the same in the UK.... in fact ..I just looked it up...

Approximately 98% of Brits earn less than £150,000 per year. While the exact figure varies by data source and year, information from the Institute for Fiscal Studies and other publications suggests that earning around £160,000 to £200,000 annually is required to enter the top 1% of UK earners, indicating that well over 99% of the population earns less than £150,000.

Here's a breakdown of the data:
  • Top 1% Threshold:
To be in the top 1% of income tax payers, a personal taxable income of at least £160,000 was needed. To be in the top 1% of all UK adults, a lower threshold of around £120,000 was the benchmark.
  • Top 1% Threshold (2022-23 Tax Year):
For the 2022-23 tax year, a salary of at least £201,000 was needed to be in the top 1% of all taxpayers.

  • Conclusion:
Given that the threshold for the very highest earners is in the £160,000 to £200,000+ range, it's clear that the vast majority of the UK population earns less than £150,000 annually.
