While it’s good that you have both coping skills and education in the human services field no one can really treat themselves. I have 3 graduate degrees and one is a MSW which is a therapy master’s. Twice I have sought therapy when I needed it. It’s like the old saying a lawyer that represents himself has a fool for a client.

I was recently attended to for personal/social issues by a counsellor that I knew personally - she was much younger than I and I had indeed given her some brief counselling in the past?? - I asked her if she felt comfortable about the role reversals and she gave an affirmative! we continued but as the time went by either face to face or via zoom she grew more uncomfortable and in my estimate unskilled to deal with me as a complex human. The sessions just ended with no final closure for either of us but she closed first. I was of course to say the least unimpressed with this branch of couselling?

After 12years of isolation a little conversation with someone other than my 2dogs would be nice. I interact with the people I pay my bills to every month then I am lonely sparatically through out the rest of each month. Trust becomes an issue as time flys. Y.

If you are looking for something to do, around here walking dogs, and caring for them while the owners are out of town has become a very well paid profession. We have a retired neighbor who found a new career doing it. Saw an ad recently by some college kids - dog walking $20 an hour. Yikes!

Yikes I agree that is above minimum standards and seems to be gouging the needs of another!

No need to worry about the dog owners. The well off of San Francisco have come here to avoid the crime and turds on the sidewalk, so they can afford a dog.
