Just One Alcoholic Drink A Day Can Be Bad For You

We NEVER pay any attention to "studies". We want an alcoholic beverage, we have one. An ice cold beer, on a hot day, can be much better than simple cold water or basically anything else.

.

I don't drink alcohol. I don't like the taste or the mental affect.

I grew up in a "dry' area of Texas [ie, no bars, no alcohol sales in stores] so it was never part of my family's or my lifestyle.

My parents did have a bottle of rum in their kitchen cabinet for decades... the same bottle... we used to put a little rum in New Year eggnog my mom homemade. Other than that one bottle of rum, there was no alcohol in the house. Ironically, when I moved to this house 17 years ago, I bought a small bottle of rum just in case I wanted to use in eggnog. But I've never opened it.

Tomorrow there will be another report contradicting this one. Personally I don't drink because I don't care for the taste. I'd Rather have an ice cream soda or a root beer float. Probably something wrong with that also.

What's even worse for your health is worrying about all these constantly contradictory 'studies' and not enjoying your life while you have it. Everything in moderation.

I read a long time ago that red wine is good for keeping your arteries healthy and clog-free. And I believed it because most of the countries that like wine have less heart problems than the US. So, I've been drinking one small glass of red Sangria wine with my main meal for at least 20 years. It does make my legs feel like wet noodles right after, but otherwise I've had no problems. They're always coming up with contradictory studies, what was true a decade ago is not true now. The way I figure it, as long as you don't use a lot of it every day you should be fine. SeaBreeze is right on the nose = "Everything in moderation".

If we paid Attention to all of these "studies", our diets would consist of little other than distilled water. Insofar as alcohol, in moderation, is concerned, it appears that those who take a small portion daily....the French and Japanese, for example...have some of the lowest rates of heart disease and cancer. Personally, I drink about a half shot of vodka, or a small glass of red wine, after Supper, and it really helps me get a solid nights sleep. I gave up beer and any other "booze" a long time ago.
The thing I notice about most of these "studies" is that they are usually a "front" for a recommendation for some expensive "supplements", that are of no more value than a daily generic vitamin pill.
