Just placed my first Instacart order

The bread thing happened a lot when i used the pickup service. The online menu doesn't always match what is on the store's shelf. So. you can be ordering goods that aren't there. And even, if you opt for "substitutions" a lot of what you wanted doesn't get put in the bag.
a lot of that is the shoppers. some of them don't know where stuff is in the store because i have no trouble finding some. i don't know if they're not allowed to grab something more expensive if it's all that's left? i just want the damn bread. i don't care if it's some other bread. i just want bread for my sandwich. if they don't have that generic then give me whatever the hell is there that's closest to what i asked for. it's not rocket science. why bring me the lunchmeat if i can't make the damn sandwich cuz i got no bread? ya know? :ROFLMAO:

then i had the lady that didn't understand that i order 2 half gallons of almond milk. she comes to the door and tells me she only got one cuz she's never seen a container of 2 before. i didn't even explain cuz it wasn't worth the waste of breath and she would've felt stupid when i got done. i don't like to order ice cream from the dillons click list because they tend to leave it set too long out in the store and it melts. i get it when i go into the store on occasion or through instacart. once you get to know what to expect it's easier to shop accordingly.

i prefer to mask up and go get my own but, i'm trying to stay away from the covid as much as i can. i'm going today cuz i need some specific things so i'll do it myself.

The only negative experience I had with replacements was when frozen meatballs I ordered wasn't in stock, but fortunately the shopper asked if replacement was ok instead of simply bringing it... no, I definitely did not want meatballs made of SEAFOOD!!!

My daughter has had some shoppers text her when they couldn't find what was on her list. Is that an option for others?

The problem I had was what was online were items that were purchased for the entire chain of stores. But that doesn't mean those items are stocked at your store. And most of the store's employee 'pickers' are teens. They aren't used to shopping., and where things are. After picking up an order, I've had to go back to the store for "out of stock" items that were sitting on the shelf. You can opt for "substituttions", but you could get stuck with , as JaniceM says "fish meatballs". Otherwise, you're wasting time emailing, , back & forth, with the store for "OK"s

Since I pay for Amazon Prime anyway, I just get food delivery from Whole Foods on occasion. It's right in the neighborhood.

To this point, in the last 2 years, everything I've ever ordered from them was in stock and delivered quickly .... also well packed, like ice cream in a heat wave.
There is a $5 tip attached for small orders (under 15 items I think) and 9 or 10 dollars for larger orders.

The service is great, but sometimes I feel guilty, and lazy, for not driving to the store myself.
