Just Watched A Documentary On A Women Birthing Sextuplets!!

Two hours of this documentary on The Learning Channel this morning followed her & hubby before the actual birth and I have to say there is such a huge gap between men & women in terms of courage. I would have been burying my head in the back yard if I was the husband. She was conscious through the entire birth procedure as the doctor called out the babies "Baby A" through "F". Three girls and three boys adding them to her twin boys and single birth boy making the number of children nine. The chances of something going wrong was brought out and thankfully she was 30 weeks in to pregnancy before they decided it was time bring the children in to the world. She was carrying 30 pounds in her the doctors said including fluids & stuff. The husband was at her side during the entire affair. To know and see the preparation and rehearsal the hospital personnel went through to get ready showed how well trained and professional those great people are. Two hours well spent watching that show. The greatest people in this world will always be mothers.

I can't imagine!

I've always wondered how once you name each baby, how you know who is who, and then there would be the expense and work involved. I raised 6 of my own, not all at once mind you, but nevertheless, it was busy times in our home for a lot of years. I was fortunate, in that I was a stay-at-home mom, so was able to do a lot of little things to help cut expenses, like making homemade baby food and formula, diapering the old-fashioned way using traditional cotton-fold diapers, diaper pins, and rubber pants, and so on.

Outside help from family/friends, at least in the very beginning would be a necessity to help settle all the babies into a schedule and routine. I had two in diapers a few times over the years, and that was busy enough for me! LOL!

Mothers are revered in Islam. I've often heard this story about what Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said about mothers (this from the Islam website):
"Respect for mothers occupies a very high position on the ladder of Islam, and is very heavy in its scales.
It is reported in the ‘Sahih’ that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) and said: “O Messenger of Allah, who is most deserving of my kind treatment?”
He replied: “Your mother.”
The man asked: “Then who?”
He replied: “Your mother.”
The man asked again: “Then who?”
He replied: “Your mother.”
The man asked again: “Then who?”
He replied: “Your father.”
Now for the woman...after a set of twins..I'd be done for sure. Tubes tied, hysterectomy, the whole nine. I only wanted one and only had one.
