Just wondering what birds do all day.

We have had parakeets in the past and they were cute. One flew out of the cage and my husband caught it and put it on his finger and told me to come pet it. It bit me and I kept trying to pet it with it biting me again. I finally gave up and we put it back in the cage. Not sure what it was thinking.

As someone who has shared my life with caged birds, I'd say the bird was thinking you were tasty, but could use some dip.

Actually, birds can form an attachment to one person in a household, but not another. I can't say why. Having had a parrot clamp onto my hand with its beak and refuse to let go, I do understand how annoying that can be. I don't think he was trying to seriously hurt me though, he could snap through a 1/4 dowel like it was butter--but it did hurt.
