Keeping up Appearances terminology

it actually drove me mad after a while..Elizabeth's shaking while holding a cup of tea and spilling it .. and the weak willed Emmet, exclaiming ''she'll sing at me, she'll sing at me''.... it all wore thin very quickly...
Not for me. I've been watching the episodes on PBS for years. I have all of the episodes on DVD. I still watch it every Saturday night, right after As Time Goes By, and right before Midsomer Murders.

I love as Time goes by... my husband couldn't stand it , he said .. all they do is whine and moan, and actually that's true , they do... but I like it anyway...

Midsomer murders are on constant repeat here.. and occasionally I'll watch one.. which of course I've seen many years ago... but that's ok...

Middomer Murders has its own channel on my Samsung smart tv, all twenty five years in rotation.

I get a kick out of spotting the various actors that had small parts before going on to have shows of their own or having important roles in things like Masterpiece Mysteries.

Many of the folks went on to have parts in Eastenders for characters like Nana Moon, Cat Slater, Bert Atkinson, Trevor Morgan, Little Moe and others.

yep absolutely they did... I often do the same thing, look out for bit part actors or extras and know they've gone onto bigger and better things

beaker.. science or lab View attachment 475590
The essential characteristic of a beaker is that it does not have a handle. Other containers without handles that are not classed as beakers are drinking glasses and bottles. The word beaker is not commonly used in Australia other than for laboratory equipment.

A mug can be a drinking container with a handle, someone's face or a person who is easily duped.
