Ken N Tx Hospitalized!!

Update: I no longer need the oxygen full time..Not saying that I might in the future, I finally stopped smoking and 2 of my children have also!!
That’s great news, Ken. People don’t understand that nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs we have in this country. I hope you guys can stay off those cancer sticks. I have seen some people really messed up from smoking.

A fellow that lives in our development was in Vietnam. He had a good dose of Agent Orange and about 5 years ago, he came down with cancer that affected his mouth, jaw and the side of his head. They had to remove some teeth and cut out about 1/3 of his jaw. Can you imagine what he looks like? The kicker is that initially, the Oncologists blamed it on his smoking. After a year of back and forth with lawyers, they finally conceded and said it was caused by AO.

Each Wednesday he comes to our poker game, but usually can’t stay because of his pain. The doctors are telling him he has about 2 years left. The cancer came back just before Christmas. I think he’s 75 years old and tells us he is worried about his wife. I told him the VA should give her a nice amount of money, so long as the cause of death goes back to AO. She should get a lump sum or a monthly allotment. We told him if not, we would make sure she is taken care of. They are very good people.

Was just catching up with your progress, my friend...happy to read the good news. Stay the course. Enjoy the fresh air.
