Kept awake by noisy neighbours?

One time of blasting a stereo until 2am is already way too much. I'd call the landlord and report him.
In lieu of that, usually apartments have public breaker boxes. Flip the switch.

A quite large couple who lived above a friend of mine would stomp around, drop things that sounded like croquet balls on the floor, and routinely left their cable TV on when they were gone blasting religious sermons for long periods of time, right above my friend's living room. A pair of wire cutters (so I heard) did a great job on the cable, the sermons were gone, and they fortunately moved to a much better place.
I have most definitely thought of that and was thinking about it that night.
But right now, with a broken ankle, not practical, because I could not get back to my flat quick enough.
If he was savvy enough he might come outside straight away and see me hobbling away from the electrical box.
Then there would be real trouble

Turn up your stereo

.......around 6AM

I suggest marching band music
Once when I was living in a duplex my neighbours were two young surfer types who would constantly party with loud music and loud young females.
I finally lost the plot one day after one one their almost all night Saturday night parties.
They finally fell into drunken comas early Sunday morning and I tuned my radio to a classical music station, turned it up loud and went out for the day.
We had some serious words that evening I can tell you.
Never stopped them from partying so because I knew the owner of the building, I went and spoke with her telling her all that was going on, including the drug taking.
She evicted them.
We shared an outdoor toilet.
As a parting gift to me, they smeared human waste all over the toilet/walls. Never seen anything so disgraceful in my life.
Luckily I was able to hose the toilet clean.
But there are some really nasty people out there and one needs to be a little careful when dealing with them. Especially as we age.

Our first condo was a first-floor unit. There was a requirement that the upstairs condos have cork in the floor so there was no noise that intruded into the first floor. Our realtor, who sold us the condo, never told us the condo above us didn't have this. And she lived in the complex.

We could hear when the guy above us had women over during the night because we could hear the high heels clicking on the floor. We could also here him pee at various times. We had Saltillo tile in our condo, which made the sounds even worse.

One day, I went upstairs and asked him, "Do you know we can hear you pee at night?" He was completely shocked by this. I knew it wasn't his fault, but we were at our wit's end.

We eventually sold the condo and were glad to get out.

Did their bed springs squeak?
Did their toilet have a water-saver flush & a slow-close seat?

Let's face it, even in private homes we are usually still close enough to hate our neighbors!
Why i live very rural. Neighbors are close enough that if one of us screamedmfor help we'd hear each other, but only loud music is from vehicles on rare occaisions and one or to folks down in village when weather is nice. I suspect they don't realize how well the sound carries across the valley and echoes off the mountains.

But thanks to thick walls we hardly ever hear it in the house Except during the couple of warm months when windows open. And thankfully it usually stops after dark.

At night our main noise is owls, coyote and the 3 a.m. footfalls of Elk passing thru the yard. When first moved woke up someone was prowling around. Once i realized what it was i grew used it, usually sleep through it.

Anyone who lives in a condo or apartment will likely have to contend with noise coming from neighbors....you can't crowd dozens, or hundreds of people in a rather confined space without having to put up with their "activities". The best thing a person can do is hope that their neighbors are reasonably responsible.
