From the clips I've seen, King Charles represented the UK exceedingly well, especially considering our European allies have basically been given the middle finger and are suffering from a war they weren't even consulted about.
He was the ultimate statesman, and he even got in a couple of zingers without offending anyone. Regardless of any feelings I may have about the Royal Family, IMO that's how it's done when visiting another country. I'm sure the Queen would have been proud.
Well, we all know that our current leader lives for praise and attention, so any country offering that will be in a better position, at least in the short-term. And King Charles brought a gift. I think it may have been gold-plated, so that's a plus.Everything went fairly smoothly, with the exception of the reception line debacle the other day. Probably the best outcome over all considering the recent falling out between the two countries over the Iran issue. It will be interesting to see if the visit makes a lasting difference or not.
Normally I feel these Royal visits are a waste of time & $$ but in this case I feel it was probably worthwhile, at least in the short term.
