King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.
It is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The type of cancer has not been revealed, but according to a palace statement the King began "regular treatments" on Monday.

Buckingham Palace says the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".

The King informed both his sons personally

The King will postpone his public engagements and it is expected other senior royals will help to stand in for him during his treatment.

No further details are being shared on the stage of cancer or a prognosis.

The King, 75, returned to London from Sandringham in Norfolk on Monday morning and the palace says he has commenced treatment as an outpatient.

Although he will pause his public events, the King will continue with his constitutional role as head of state, including paperwork and private meetings.
There is a constitutional mechanism for when the head of state is unable to carry out official duties - in that circumstance "counsellors of state" can be appointed to stand in for the monarch.
At present that includes Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Anne and Prince Edward,

I just heard this news and will be praying for him and the whole Royal Family.
I also heard on TV that Harry is coming back to England to be with him.

The cancer was detected early so I am sure he will be able to recover from it. It would be wonderful if this news would cause the family and Harry to get to a better place in their relationships.

The King is still "Bonnie Prince Charles" to me, for many reasons.

that's another concern. Harry wanted nothing to do with his father, or his brother for a very long time. if this was an easily treatable cancer, Harry wouldn't return, after all he didn't return last week when Charles was diagnosed with a potential prostate cancer...which fortunately turned out to be benign... ... so another guess that this something BIG...

This is sad news indeed.

A friend, who worked in the NHS for many years, suggests that
the King's very fat fingers could be a pointer to liver problems,
I have never heard this before, about fat fingers. I hope that he
does not have liver problems, they seem to be more serious than
other areas.
Here is a link to some pictures of his fingers.

lol.. we're all still getting use to calling him King... he's been a Prince since before I was even born...:D
I got a smile from it... Our very own HollyDolly demoted the King. 😁 And yeah, "Prince Charles" has been around forever so it's hard to get used to the change. The Harry thing... yes, that's concerning. Has there been particular cancers in the family, I wonder? I know there was some talk of it with Philip a few times, but don't know if it was confirmed or rumor.

Watch the video from TalkTV

Confirmed by Buckingham Palace . King Charles will be reducing his public duties, and will begin treatment immediately. The exact type of cancer was not revealed, but the statement did say that it was not related to his recent treatment for a benign prostate condition. The King will continue to attend to matters of State, and he will continue to consult with his Cabinet and the Prime Minister, daily. God Save The King. Jimb.

No Cancers as far as we're aware.. in the immediate family. ..except the Queens' father, Charles' Grandfather who died young from Lung Cancer..only 56, but of course he was a chain smoker.. The Queen and none of her children smoke... the only smokers were princess Margaret and prince Harry

The TV News Services, are loving it, bad news really excites them,
I watched ITV News this evening, you would think that he was dead,
all the reporters wore black or dark clothes, they all had long faces,
their biggest gripe, was the lack of fresh news, from Buckingham
Palace, the King's office.

Not one of them said anything like "we hope that he gets better"
or made any comment directed at the king, wishing him well, they
are strange people, to broadcast in such a sombre way, I think.

I think people are panicking more because we lost the Queen so recently, and didn't know that she was ill. We the people weren't made privy to her illness or imminent death, so because of that the press are going to hold onto this like a pitbull with it's jaws around a meat bone.. they're not going to allow us to be kept in the dark again...

Time for Harry to get over himself before it's too late.
