King Charles can often be a very chummy fellow- but he does have a very comfortable life style heh - and normally is reqd to stay outa politics?

"Canada's side" is an overstatement. The real divide is between factions of society within Canada.

I'm pretty sure that Canadians will appreciate the timing of this gesture however, a new ceremonial sword was always on the cards to mark the ascension of the new King of Canada. In due course I anticipate a similar gift being bestowed on the Australian parliament.

The planting of the red maple tree is definitely a symbol of solidarity with the Canadian people.

Maybe this will revitalise interest in CANZUK - closer cooperation between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Well of course King Charles is still the constitutional Monarchy of Canada, so of course he and this uk have a special place for Canada in our hearts
