I wonder what might be revealed:

Buckingham Palace has said that it is co-operating with an independent study exploring the relationship between the British monarchy and the slave trade in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Palace said King Charles takes the issue "profoundly seriously".

The research is being carried out by the University of Manchester with Historic Royal Palaces.

Buckingham Palace is granting researchers full access to the Royal Archives and the Royal Collection.
The study, a PhD project by historian Camilla de Koning, is expected to be completed in 2026.

That's interesting, but it's not really shocking news. :/ A lot of countries had slaves at that time, The US, The UK, Spain (I think).

The US began it's experience with slaves from Africa under British rule, however, the UK abolished slavery and freed their slaves roughly thirty years before the US. And did a nicer job of it in that instead of a civil war (which I am aware was not soley about slavery, but still) they simply bought the slaves back from the plantation owners.

True, they just finished paying this debt in 2015 (according to the link I just read), but at least they did it.
