I just watched a segment about the helicopter (a Sikorsky) Bryant and his 13 year-old daughter had been killed in while flying to a basketball game. The NTSB concluded that a combination of bad weather and poor judgment on part of the pilot was the cause of the crash.

When it comes to helicopters, you could probably put what I know about them into a sewing thimble. I never liked flying in them when I was in Vietnam and was a door gunner on one occasion and decided that was a job better suited for someone with a death wish.

On a trip to Hawaii, my wife thought it would be very nice if we toured the islands in a helicopter. I was totally against it, but the wife and kids wanted to do it, so I went along with it. I don’t think I ever prayed so much until we landed. I just don’t understand them and would much rather fly a small private plane over the islands and be much more comfortable.

Yeah
You can do a dead stick landing in a small plane (I've done it)
Chopper.....no chance
Like I said, I hated flying in them during Vietnam. They made me more nervous than looking for Charlie.

I’m with you on this one oldman, unless we’re talking about military choppers loaded with armaments. I would be glad to fly on an Apache Attack Helicopter.

I feel better with my feet on the ground. I feel that with my feet on the ground I am going to live longer than those that have the money to fly around.

I rode in helicopters 2 different years at the Ohio State fair, exciting.
